Sanjay Kapoor shed tears at the launch of daughter Shanaya’s firing
Actor Sanjay Kapoor was visually emotional at the trailer launch of his daughter Shanaya Kapoor’s upcoming film Ankhon Ki Gustakhyayan. The film is scheduled to release on 11 July.

Actor Sanjay Kapoor and his wife Mahip Kapoor were present at the trailer launch of their daughter, Shanaya Kapoor’s first film, ‘Ankhon Ki Gustakhyayan’ held in Mumbai on Tuesday. The incident as Sanjay became emotional, visually gone, while speaking about Shanaya speaking in Bollywood, struggled to withdraw his tears.
A video of the incident has surfaced online, the moment Sanjay was invited on stage to share a few words about the beginning of his daughter. On proceeding forward, he embraced the film’s lead actor Wickrant Massey before addressing the audience. Fighting tears back, he said, “The main picker 30 saal se kaam kar raha hoon, but itna nervous nahi path. Aaj main bahot nervous hoon. Usse pehle ke kuch aansoon nikal jaaye, thanks.“(I have been working for the last 30 years, and I have never been nervous. Today I am very nervous. Before I shed some tears. Thank you)

Shanaya looked bright in a yellow corset saree, while Mahip kept it accidental. Wikrant opted for a classic black suit, and Sanjay donated an all-black dress for the occasion.
Shanaya was earlier ready to debut with ‘Bedhadak’, which was eventually given shelter. Now, he is ready for his grand start with Vikrant in ‘Ankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan’. Directed by Santosh Singh and written by Mansi Bagla, the film Ruskin Bond is based on the acclaimed short story ‘The Eyes Have It’. It is scheduled for a dramatic release on 11 July.
Apart from this, Shanaya also has ‘Tu or Men’, directed by Bejos Nambiar and co-integrated Adarsh Gaurav, who is ready for release in 2026.
