In a candid interview with Hollywood legend Samuel L. Jackson associated Pressshared his unfiltered thoughts on the Oscars, expressing a pragmatic if not skeptical view of the awards process.

“We’ve been in the business long enough to know what it means when people say, ‘It’s an honor to be nominated.’ No, it’s not. It’s an honor,” Jackson commented, adding that nominations often fade from public memory unless they are linked to a win.

Reflecting on the fleeting impact of nominations, he said, “They nominate you and people ask, ‘What’s the movie you’re nominated for?’ And after it’s over, people find it hard to remember who even won.”

This isn’t the first time Jackson has spoken openly about his outlook on the Academy Awards. In a 2022 interview many timesHe revealed that Oscar has never been the measure of his success. “The measure of my success is my happiness: am I satisfied with what I am doing?
