Samsung has brought its latest Galaxy Book6 series laptops to CES – they are powered by Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors, the first on the Intel 18A node (this is a 1.8 nm class node). The new processors, along with an improved cooling system, help the 2026 laptop run longer and cooler.

There are three models in the series: Vanilla, Pro and Ultra. The Ultra is only available in 16” size, while the other two offer a choice between 14” and 16” displays.

The Samsung Galaxy Book6 Pro and Galaxy Book6 Ultra feature Dynamic AMOLED 2X touchscreens. They can adjust their frame rate between 30Hz and 120Hz to match the content (animation, video, gaming).

Gorilla Glass with DXC combines drop and scratch resistance with anti-reflective coating – reducing reflections on the surface by up to 75%. The display has True Bright 1300 certification and True Black 0.0005 nits. For SDR content you’ll get up to 500 nits, while for HDR the peak brightness is up to 1,000 nits.

The Intel Core Ultra 3 series has 16 cores (P and E cores) that promise up to 60% more CPU performance than the previous generation. It is paired with 50 TOPS NPU.

The Samsung Galaxy Book6 Ultra can be configured with Core Ultra X9, 9, X7 or 7 series processors. While they have quite capable Intel Arc GPUs (70% faster than the previous generation), you can also get an Nvidia GPU – a GeForce RTX 5060 or 5070 with 8GB of GDDR7.

Samsung Galaxy Book6 Pro

The iGPU model comes with 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM, while the models with Nvidia GPUs offer three options: 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB. For storage, there’s a 512GB/1TB/2TB PCIe SSD and an empty expansion slot.

The Galaxy Book6 Pro comes with Intel Core Ultra X7, 7 or 5 processors and 16/32GB LPDDR5X RAM. The pre-installed PCIe SSD is 256GB/512GB/1TB. The 16” model also offers an empty expansion slot.

The Samsung Galaxy Book6 is a more basic model with an IPS LCD (350 nits), available in 14” and 16” sizes. You can configure it with a Core Ultra 7 or 5 processor (older generation) and 16GB or 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM. Storage options are a PCIe SSD with 256GB/512GB/1TB capacity and expansion slots for both sizes (note that the 14” model can only fit a smaller 2230 SSD).

The Pro and Ultra models promise up to 30 hours of video playback on a single charge – which is 5 hours more than their predecessors. Also, supports ultra fast charging and can reach 63% in 30 minutes.

In more detail, the Galaxy Book6 Ultra has an 80.20Wh battery with 100W charging – 140W if you choose the model with an Nvidia GPU. The Pro has a 67.18Wh battery for the 14″ model and a 78.07Wh battery for the 16″ model. Both support 65W charging (over USB-C). The vanilla model has a smaller 61.20Wh battery with 45W charging.

Samsung has designed these to be thin and light – the Pro more so than the other two. The 14” Pro measures 11.6 mm thick and weighs 1.24 kg, while the 16” model is 11.9 mm and 1.59 kg. The Ultra is 15.4 mm thick and weighs 1.79 kg (or 1.89 kg if there’s an Nvidia GPU inside). The vanilla model is 14.9 mm/1.48 kg and 14.9 mm/1.75 kg for the 14” and 16” models respectively. Note that there is an optional touchscreen, which adds thickness (16.8 mm) and weight (1.85 kg).

Samsung completely redesigned the cooling system to make it more effective

The new 18A Intel silicon on Pro and Ultra laptops is paired with an expansive and efficient cooling system. Both have fanned vapor chambers (the Ultra has a larger one) – these fans improve cooling efficiency by 35% compared to the previous Galaxy Book generation. Additionally, the re-engineered fan has a larger inlet grille to improve airflow. The new cooling system lowers the temperature and also reduces noise.

The Galaxy Book6 Ultra stands out with an advanced audio system with 6 speakers – 2 up-firing tweeters and four force-canceling woofers. This means that the woofers are arranged in pairs one after the other to cancel vibration and reduce distortion. Of course, Dolby Atmos is supported. The 16” Pro has a similar system, although with only two woofers (the 14” model has a more basic 2-speaker sound system).

For connectivity, the Pro and Ultra models have two Thunderbolt 4 ports, one USB-A, one HDMI 2.1 port (8K@60fps and 5K@120fps), as well as a headphone/microphone combo jack. There is also an SD card reader. Wireless connectivity is handled by Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be 2×2) and Bluetooth 5.4.

The vanilla Galaxy Book6 has two USB-C ports, two USB-A, an HDMI port, a headphone/microphone jack, and even an Ethernet port. The card slot is for the smaller microSD standard. There’s no Wi-Fi 7, but the laptop supports Wi-Fi 6E (AAX 2×2) and Bluetooth 5.4.

Samsung will launch the Galaxy Book6 series in select markets later this month and pricing information will be released at that time. Enterprise edition models will be available in some markets from April.
