A few months ago, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Book5 Pro 360, now it is following up with the introduction of the Samsung Galaxy Book5 Pro. Like its 360 sibling, it is powered by Intel Lunar Lake processors with an NPU capable of 47 TOPS.

This enables not one but two AI platforms to run on the laptop – Samsung’s own Galaxy AI features are present, as is Microsoft’s CoPilot+. It is the first device in the family with the “AI Select” function, powered by Galaxy AI.

AI Select is similar to Circle to Search – you can circle an image or piece of text to start a new search. This feature can also be used for OCR and copying text from images or scanning QR codes. Note that this uses Samsung technology instead of Google (like on Galaxy phones).

All of this can be achieved with a touchscreen – the Galaxy Book5 Pro comes in 14” and 16” sizes. In both cases, it’s a Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with Vision Booster and anti-reflection coating.

The NPU is also used for other tasks – for example, Photo Remaster can upgrade old photos. It also has a real-time interpreter function and note assist.

The laptop supports Microsoft’s Phone Link, which is the common way to connect Android phones. Galaxy device owners can enjoy Multi Control (use the keyboard and mouse to control the phone and tablet), Second Screen (use the tablet as a second monitor) and Quick Share (transfer files, photos and documents between Galaxy devices). Move easily). ,

The Samsung Galaxy Book5 Pro is equipped with a large battery that will last up to 25 hours. If you spend that time watching videos, you’ll enjoy the sound from four speakers with Dolby Atmos support.

Samsung enhanced the webcam with Staggered HDR, which combines multiple different exposures into a single image with lots of dynamic range. This is a common feature on smartphones, but it’s rare to see it on a webcam.

Connectivity options include two Thunderbolt 4 ports, an HDMI 2.1, a USB-A, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a microSD reader.

Samsung Galaxy Book 5 Pro will launch in South Korea on January 2 (price is not known yet). If you sign up now to receive launch alerts, you will receive a discount coupon that can be used between January 2nd and March 31st. The laptop will be available in gray and silver colors.
