This will be Samsung’s first extended reality (XR) headset, and is being developed in partnership with Google. The headset will run a version of Android XR, Android, especially designed for mixed-cosmopolitan devices. Android XR is the result of a joint attempt between Samsung and Google, like their cooperation in recent versions of OS wear for smartwatches. The new platform is expected to come up with the underlying Gemini AI, which gives users access to smart tools and relevant information inside their headsets. For example, imagine using the Google map in the 3D interface or receiving AI-borne assistance while navigate or working in XR.

Under the hood, the headset will be powered by Qualcomm’s XR2+ Gen 2 chip, allegedly built on its 4Nm process of Samsung. It should help give smooth performance along with balanced power efficiency, both are important for wearable equipment.

Even though it has not been launched yet, the headset has been seen in public for some time. Samsung showed early prototypes at MWC 2024 and Galaxy S25 launch earlier this year, and is expected to once again hoping to tease with Galaxy Z. Fold 7 and Flip 7 during his unpacked event in July.

For features, the device is said to support both mixed reality and complete virtual reality experiences. Samsung is reportedly focusing on making the headset lighter and comfortable, although specific design details are unknown. Rumors also indicate a smooth form factor that is more user friendly than bulkier options.

Of course, all of this comes in the form of competition in XR space. Apple’s Vision Pro has already made headlines with its high-end approach, but it also increased eyebrows for its price and heavy design. Samsung may aim to attack a better balance, provides top level performance and a good user experience, but at a more accessible price point.

He said, nothing is set in stone until Samsung makes it official. But if the latest reports are accurate, we may not have to wait long to see what Moohan is really.
