Introduction and Glasses
After a few years of stagnation, Samsung is back on track. This year’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 provides real upgradation and improvement in major areas that had a decrease in the previous generations. The new Z fold 7 holds with the competition in terms of portability and camera experience as it is now quite thin and light, and employs a high-grade camera setup.
In this process, Samsung was also able to give us a little more screen real estate. Both internal and external screens are now large. Unfortunately, the company had to sacrifice S Pen Holster and S Pen Support completely, but thus killed two birds with a stone – large displays and a thin profile.
The new cover screen is now 6.5 “above 6.3, and the foldable panel increased from 7.6” to 8.0 “, which is a solid upgrade.

Upgrades do not stop there. The new Z fold is equipped with better cameras as it borrows the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s main isocell HP2 200MP sensor. The accessory cameras are the same, but the ultravide now supports the autofocus, and it unlocks the closure-distance focusing.
In addition, the internal camera is now similar to the outer one – 10MP, which is a solid upgrade at the last year’s 4MP. More importantly, the internal selfie cam is equipped with an ultravide lens, which has a fairly wide area.
Despite the decrease in weight and thickness, Z fold 7 has the same battery capacity like last year – 4,400 mAh, 25W wired and 15W wireless supports charging rates.
Last but at least, this year’s foldables from Samsung launch with a new one UI 8, rather than offering an aged upgrade to OS. Even more importantly, a UI 8 is still based on unpublished Android 16, which makes the first device to run the foldables of this year out of the box.
On paper, the Galaxy Z fold 6 sounds like a competitive high end solution, but the opponents are either not dull. Let’s see how the new Galaxy Z fold 7 piles up against your peers.
