Samsung’s next Ultra flagship is now firmly in the spotlight as fresh leaks suggest an early 2026 launch. The Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to arrive next month, and the latest information suggests Samsung is focusing on practical upgrades to the display, camera, performance, and charging rather than headline-grabbing changes. Like previous Ultra models, what Samsung has introduced here is expected to influence the broader premium Android space during the rest of the year. Let’s take a look at the leaked camera, price, design, display, and other details of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra.

Display

A post on X by tipster @TheGalox_ lists 10 major upgrades that could debut with the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Samsung’s Ultra phones are usually among the first top-tier flagships of the year, which is why every leak surrounding them draws attention. This time, the focus is on efficiency, better imaging and a slimmer build without any cut in battery life.

The Samsung Galaxy S26 series is likely to arrive soon.

One of the biggest upgrades is believed to be the display. The Galaxy S26 Ultra is said to use Samsung’s latest M14 OLED panel, which is claimed to be about 20 to 30 percent more power-efficient than the M13 OLED found on the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Although this panel can achieve very high brightness levels, Samsung may prefer lower power consumption instead. In daily use, this may translate into better battery life rather than flashy peak brightness numbers.

The display is also expected to feature a built-in privacy feature. This technology limits the viewing angle, making it harder for people nearby to see what’s on your screen. This can be especially useful when accessing messages, email, or financial apps in public places.

camera

Camera changes are another major talking point. The leak suggests that Samsung may opt for a wider aperture on both the main rear camera and the 5x telephoto lens. The main camera can go from f/1.7 to f/1.4 aperture, while the telephoto lens can go from f/3.4 to f/2.9. Wider apertures allow more light to reach the sensor, which will help deliver cleaner photos with less noise in low-light scenes.

Samsung is also expected to offer more control over image processing. The new Camera Assistant options on One UI 8.5 may allow users to reduce the sharpened look that Samsung cameras are sometimes criticized for. Video recording may also benefit from adjustable autofocus transition speeds. Users can choose quick focus changes for sports or fast-moving subjects or slower changes for a more cinematic video style.

There are also plans to improve lens coating. These upgrades are expected to reduce light glare and improve skin tone accuracy. Reports suggest that the phone may address issues like poor light sources and yellow skin tones seen in some previous models. On the front, the selfie camera is said to switch to a wider 22mm lens, making it easier to take group selfies without having to step back.

charging support

Charging speeds could finally get a meaningful boost. The Galaxy S26 Ultra is said to support 60W wired charging, which is ahead of Samsung’s long-standing limit of 45W. If accurate, the phone can charge from zero to 50 percent in less than 15 minutes. Fast wireless charging is also expected, although exact details have not been revealed yet.

chipset, memory

Under the hood, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is likely to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. The standard version is expected to be manufactured by TSMC using the 3nm process. There is also talk of a special “For Galaxy” version manufactured by Samsung Foundry using a 2 nm process with gate-all-around transistors. Either way, the chipset is expected to deliver strong performance with better efficiency.

Upgrade can also be seen in memory performance. While LPDDR6 RAM is still not ready for mass use, Samsung could use a faster version of LPDDR5X RAM, up to 10.7Gbps. It is said to help reduce shutter lag by allowing AI-powered multi-frame HDR processing to run up to 25 percent faster.

Battery

Battery capacity is another area where Samsung may eventually make changes. The Galaxy S Ultra lineup has been stuck with a 5000mAh battery since the Galaxy S20 Ultra. This may change with the Galaxy S26 Ultra, which is likely to have a battery in the 5100mAh to 5400mAh range. Despite the increase, the phone may still be thinner, with a thickness of around 7.9mm compared to the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s 8.2mm.

design

The design leak also hints at the return of a noticeable camera bump. This is reportedly needed to accommodate the larger camera aperture within the thinner body. Although a raised camera module may not be to everyone’s taste, it can be a good option for better photography, especially in low light conditions.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra: price in India (expected)

Samsung has not yet clarified whether it plans to stick with the pricing approach it adopted for the Galaxy S25 lineup or make a change for the next generation. For reference, the Galaxy S25 was launched in India with a starting price of Rs 80,999, while the Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 Ultra were priced at Rs 99,999 and Rs 1,29,999, respectively. Interestingly, Samsung has kept the prices of the Plus and Ultra variants unchanged compared to the Galaxy S24 series, while the standard Galaxy S25 has seen a relatively small increase of Rs 1,000. Reports suggest that some markets, including South Korea, may see a price revision with the upcoming Galaxy S26 range, although the new series in the US market is expected to be priced similarly to the existing S25 lineup.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra: Launch Timeline (Leaked)

If leaks are to be believed, Samsung may unveil the Galaxy S26 series at its next Unpacked event, which may take place on February 25 in San Francisco. As of now, the company has not revealed the official launch date, but the announcement is probably not far away. You can stay connected with India Today Tech for all updates.
