Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus may get a surprise ultra upgrade, launch expected in early 2026
The Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus is expected to get upgrades from the Galaxy S26 Ultra, potentially narrowing the gap between the two models. Here are all the details about Samsung’s flagship smartphone lineup and when you can expect to see these devices launch in India.

Samsung Galaxy S26 series is about to arrive. Samsung’s flagship lineup is expected to get notable upgrades in design and performance. Now, reports have emerged that the Galaxy S26 Plus may take a lesson from the S26 Ultra’s book this time.
Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus may match the display size of Galaxy S26 Ultra
The Plus model in the Galaxy S series typically offers a larger display than the vanilla model, while Samsung has reserved the largest screen size ever for the Ultra. Now, according to Tech Informer, the Korean giant may increase the screen size on the Galaxy S26 Plus from 6.7 inches to 6.9 inches, which will bring it on par with the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
This could change the way consumers view the Galaxy S26 Plus, as it will bridge the gap between the Plus and Ultra models. Both panels are expected to be QHD+ displays with a 120Hz refresh rate. However, it is unclear whether the same display will be used for both devices.
Interestingly, the Galaxy S26 Plus was earlier reported to be replaced by an ultra-slim Galaxy S26 Edge variant. However, Samsung reportedly shelved such plans and re-focused on the Plus model.
Samsung Galaxy S26 series, here’s what we know
There are likely to be changes in the design of the Samsung Galaxy S26 series. All three devices are expected to get an integrated camera module instead of separate camera cutouts. Additionally, the Galaxy S26 Ultra may get more rounded corners than its predecessors.
In terms of performance, the Galaxy S26 series will likely be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC in select regions, while some markets are likely to get the Exynos 2600 variant.
There may be an upgrade on the camera front as well. Earlier reports suggested that the S26 and S26 Plus would stick with the S25’s 10-megapixel 3x telephoto lens, but a new leak points to a possible switch to a 12-megapixel 3x telephoto sensor. This raises the possibility of Samsung eventually updating a component that spans multiple model generations.
When it comes to battery, Samsung is rumored to offer a 5,000mAh cell on the Galaxy S26 Ultra, while the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26 Plus are likely to get 4,300mAh and 4,900mAh batteries respectively. The Galaxy S26 series is also expected to get Qi2 support for wireless charging, which will make the devices compatible with Apple’s MagSafe.
Samsung Galaxy S26 series launch and expected price
