So far, conflicting rumors have come about whether Samsung will use Snapdragon or exinos chipset in its next generation Galaxy S26 series. Recent reports suggested that the company could fully dig the Snapdragon in favor of exinos. However, the latest growth is towards a Snapdragon-Integrated Galaxy S26-but with an interesting twist. To remember, Samsung last used Exynos 2400 chipset in the Galaxy S24 and S24 Plus, while the S24 Ultra was operated by Snapdragon 8 General 3 processor. For this year’s Galaxy S25 lineup, all phones are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Chipset.
Now, a new leak indicates that Samsung may once again use Snapdragon chips in the upcoming Galaxy S26, but not the general version not everyone is expecting. But according to the information shared Weibo By Tipster digital chat stationSamsung can actually build its version of Qualcomm’s next generation Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chip. Interestingly, this version will not be made by TSMC like origin, but can be manufactured by Samsung’s own founders instead.
This chipset adds an unexpected turn to the debate. Technically, Samsung would not be using exynos, but will not be with the same snapdragon chip similar to everyone. Instead, the Galaxy S26 series may feature a Samsung-made Snapdragon chip with a separate model number- SM8850s compared to the SM8850 version of TSMC in the series. At this point, it is not clear whether there will be any performance difference between the two. But it is likely that the Samsung version must closely follow Qualcomm’s design to keep standardized things in the markets.
Said that, even if there are minor performance variations, they cannot make a big difference in day to day use. Samsung has severely criticized the years for its exinos chips behind Snapdragon counterparts, especially when it comes to battery life and continuous performance. Therefore, this step can be a way to avoid that backlash, while still cost production partially and under control in the house.
In addition to the chipset details, there are other rumors that suggest changes in the Galaxy S26 lineup. Samsung may plan to scrap the ‘Plus’ model in favor of a new Galaxy S26 age. The details are still unclear, but suggest a slightly re -designed display for the initial leak ultra model, possibly compared to S25 Ultra with thin bezels. Some reports also mention 16 GB RAM, which are being standard on ultra variants, regardless of storage size.
It is still an early day, and the Galaxy S26 launch is a little late. We suggest that this information takes this information with a healthy grain of salt and remain on our website for all the latest leaks and rumors around Samsung’s next generation of Galaxy devices.
