Along with the new S26 series of flagships, Samsung also unveiled the next generation of Galaxy Buds. Samsung surveyed its users and found that 58% of them use the buds on a daily basis – and sound quality is a top priority. That said, most people only use one pair of headphones for everything, so the buds also need to be comfortable and easy to carry.
These were the priorities that informed the design of the new Samsung Galaxy Buds4 and Buds4 Pro. Let’s start with the outside – Samsung redesigned the case so the buds lie flat, making them easier to retrieve and store. There’s still a transparent top so you can appreciate the revised design.

The triangular blades (stems) give way to flat blades, which are crafted from brushed metal. Samsung has also carved out the touch-sensitive area to make it easier to find by touch – the blades support pinch and swipe gestures.
As mentioned above, sound quality was a top priority when designing the new buds, so the Galaxy Buds4 Pro feature an improved 2-way speaker system with a wider woofer and tweeter. The new speakers are about 20% larger than the Buds3 Pro. For music, the buds can play 24-bit 96kHz Hi-Fi sound.

The vanilla Galaxy Buds4 opt for an open design, which makes them more comfortable to wear for extended periods, although the open design has weak active noise cancellation (ANC).
Both models have advanced Adaptive ANC that selectively mutes or boosts sounds (e.g. engine noise is turned down, but siren sounds are dialed up). Similarly, the buds feature Super Clear Calls, offering 16kHz audio and keeping it clear with strong noise reduction.
The Galaxy Buds4 are available in black and white, while the Buds4 Pro also have a pink gold option as an online exclusive.

These buds will work with any phone. However, Galaxy users get a better experience and additional features. The Buds4 can connect to a Galaxy phone without the need for an app – the quick panel will show easy-to-access controls including a volume slider, an ANC toggle, a dial for ambient sound volume, and more.
The buds also offer hands-free controls, for example you can nod to accept a call or shake your head to reject a call. You can also summon Bixby and command it to control your smart home devices. Finally, the interpreter feature translates between multiple languages in real-time.
Samsung Galaxy Buds4 and Buds4 Pro can be pre-ordered from today and will be available from March 11 (the same launch date as the Galaxy S26 series). The base model is priced at $180 / €180, while the Pros can be purchased for $250 / €250. These are the same prices as the Buds3 and Buds3 Pro in 2024.
