The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is now available in many parts of the world, after starting it a few days ago. Samsung says that this is “more than a design milestone”, it is also a solution to long -standing issues in smartphone engineering.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge
The company has described innovations that have allowed it to fit a 200MP camera inside a Snapdragon 8 Elite and a phone that measures only 5.8 mm thick and weighs 163G.

The exterior is a strong titanium frame, similar to the S25 ultra. The 6.7 ”Ltpo display on the front is preserved by Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 (exclusively available on S25 Edge), the back is preserved by Gorilla Glass Victus 2.

But it is inside where innovation begins. Samsung was to develop a new growing system for the internal structure of the phone, allowing it to place components with 0.1 mm accuracy. It went through many prototypes until the design was not correct.

Engineers shaved more than 10% of the thickness of the 200MP camera by adapting the autofocus and optical image stabilization hardware. He also designed a two-layer camera accommodation that helps in further offset the height of the module. Here is the result compared to the Galaxy S25 Ultra, which also has a 200MP camera.

The S25 Edge Snapdragon 8 operates for Galaxy by 8 Elite, the rest of the S25 family. Its diluted frame cools a large issue, however, so Samsung added a large vapor room (10% larger than one in S25+) and introduced a “hole structure” design.

This is a large cutout in the metal frame of the phone that allows for more direct connection between chipset and vapor chamber. There is also an analog thermal interface that increases heat from other components.
Was Samsung Galaxy S25 successful in its work of running fast under a continuous load? The company is happy with the result, but our tests suggest that it was not enough – even with its short vapor chamber with S25+ gets out better during long tests.

Looking at the future, the rumor is that Samsung will take what he learned from designing the S25 edge camera and applying it to the S26 series. The upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 is said to be impressively thin, perhaps borrow ideas from the S25 edge design.
