Although the panel, including Apoorva Mukhija and Ashish Chanchlani, laughed off the question, it sparked widespread online reaction. Multiple FIRs were filed against Ranveer and the producers of the show, who also faced death threats and online cancellation.
The situation worsened when the National Commission for Women (NCW) intervened, following which Ranveer had to issue a written apology. The Supreme Court later granted him interim protection from arrest, but described his comments as “obscene” and criticized him for having a “dirty mind” that brought shame to the society.
