Actress Samantha urges Telangana govt to publish report on sexual harassment
Actress Samantha urged the Telangana government to publish the Hema Committee report on sexual harassment in the Telugu film industry, following efforts by the Women in Cinema Collective.

Actress Samantha shared a post by Voice of Women on August 30, welcoming the Hema Committee report and urging the Telangana government to publish the report on sexual harassment in the Telugu film industry.
The post shared by Samantha on her Instagram story read, “We, the women of the Telugu film industry, welcome the Hema Committee report and appreciate the persistent efforts of the WCC (Women in Cinema Collective) in Kerala that has paved the way for this moment.”
Samantha’s post further read, “Taking inspiration from WCC, a support group for women at TFI, The Voice of Women, was created in 2019.”
They also urged the Telangana government to take similar action and publish a report on sexual harassment. The post concluded, “We urge the Telangana government to publish the report of the sub-committee presented on sexual harassment, which may help in formulating government and industry policies to establish a safe working environment for women in TFI.”
The Hema Committee report, which alleged sexual exploitation and harassment of women in the Malayalam film industry, has sparked widespread outrage, with several celebrities speaking out about their own experiences of harassment and abuse.
Following the report, the Malayalam superstar Mohanlal and the steering committee under him resigned from their posts in the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA).,
