Spreading from Bihar to other states, a political firstorm exploded on the Sir Voter List Exercise. The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister has accused the Center and the Election Commission of using practice to “quietly eradicate voters” in favor of the Bharatiya Janata Party. The Chief Minister warned the central government not to play with fire, “saying that” any threat to democracy will be fulfilled with great resistance. ” In response, the Election Commission has indicated the “double-spec” of the opposing parties, showing that they have deployed booth-level agents for the same practice. The BJP has accused the ‘Opposition’ (protest) of creating an uproar, claiming that they are afraid of losing the Bihar election and opposing a transparent process.

The Delhi government has shifted the Supreme Court to a review of an order of 2018, which has banned 10 -year diesel and 15 -year -old petrol vehicles in the national capital. The government’s petition argues that the ban was based on the old BS4 emission standards and should not be determined by the age of the vehicle, especially since the BS6 criteria are strict. It states that, “A comprehensive policy is required to look at the level of vehicle fitness based on emissions rather than a blanket restriction.” The application has highlighted that a blanket restriction affects the middle class and old citizens with well-used vehicles and negatively affects the market. The government has suggested that a comprehensive study is required on the viability and fairness of these restrictions. Two private citizens have also filed a similar petition. The Supreme Court is expected to hear the case on Monday.
