during an interview with GulteSamantha was asked whether her love for cinema ever diminished during the difficult times of her career. In response, he spoke candidly about the pressures that come with fame and how success shaped his early choices.

“I did a lot of movies that I definitely wasn’t proud of,” he said. Samantha said that her journey from Pallavaram, an area of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, to becoming one of the biggest stars in South India left her overwhelmed with the praise and attention she received.
The actor recalled being deeply invested in the public perception and media stories around him. He said, “What you or your channel wrote about me or what was said about me in the press defined who I was. And that was addicting.”
Samantha also recalled the period when she released many films and got continuous success. He recalled that he was labeled ‘Golden Leg’ after giving several hits and admitted that he had started believing in the image that was built around him.
According to Samantha, at that time her focus was on commercial success rather than artistic development. She said, “I have a hit, a blockbuster and then my mental state was quite there. I never felt like, ‘Am I talented? Can I improve? How am I contributing to the film?’
She said, “I never felt that I was not getting what I wanted from films. It was just that I kept changing what I wanted from films.”
Over the past decade, Samantha has been a frequent part of several big-budget commercial entertainers and shared screen space with some of the biggest names in Tamil and Telugu cinema. However, in recent years, she has consciously shifted towards writer-supported roles, action-driven performances and projects that provide greater creative satisfaction. He has also ventured into production under his banner Tralala Moving Pictures.
