Salman was very sweet, working with Akshay was never difficult: Priyadarshan
Veteran filmmaker Priyadarshan opens up about his experience working with Salman Khan and Akshaye Khanna and dismisses their “difficult” reputation. He is now preparing for his upcoming film Bhoot Bangla with Akshay Kumar, which marks their reunion after 14 years.

Veteran filmmaker Priyadarshan says he has seen it all – from chaotic comedy sets to high-level productions held across continents. The filmmaker talks to India Today about his next film ghost banglaand commented on her working relationships with several actors, including Salman Khan and Akshaye Khanna, often terming them “difficult”.
“Salman was very sweet to me”
Priyadarshan also talked about his relationship with Salman Khan. Both of them worked together in the 2005 film ‘Kyun…Ki’. The director dismissed assumptions about Khan and shared a personal anecdote. He commented on the softer, more collaborative side of the superstar.

“Salman Khan loves me,” Priyadarshan said, recalling a recent meeting, even though they were not working on a film together. “He told me, ‘Garu, next time we work together I will come at 1 am instead of 10 pm,'” he laughs.
Talking about their time shooting in Romania, the director emphasized the warm bond shared between them, saying, “He was very sweet to me.”
“Akshay Khanna never found it difficult”
The same philosophy also applies to actors like Akshaye Khanna, who, despite his reputation of being reserved or exclusive, has never posed a challenge to the filmmaker. Akshay has worked in many films including Priyadarshan stir (2004), Ruckus (2003) among others.
“A lot of people say, ‘Oh, he’s difficult to work with.’ I never found it difficult. Thank God,” Priyadarshan recalled. He said, “You accept a person as he is and treat him as he is. There is no problem.”
On the professional front, Priyadarshan is gearing up for the release of ghost banglaTitled by Akshay Kumar. The project marks their reunion after almost 14 years. The film stars a strong cast including Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Jisshu Sengupta, late actor Asrani and Wamiqa Gabbi in pivotal roles.
