talking to Hindustan Times Regarding the title change, Lakhia had earlier said, “The title change may seem sudden to SK sir fans, but it was never a decision taken overnight. Right from the beginning, we had registered two titles: battle of galwan And Homeland. As we went through the journey of making our film, we realized that it was never about a fight. At its core, the film is about humanity, empathy and the silent battle fought by our soldiers.
The filmmaker also said that the new title more accurately reflects the emotional core of the story. “Motherland: Let there be peace in war Captures that emotion and sacrifice much more truthfully. This reflects the soul of the story, preserving humanity even in the face of conflict. There is also a song with the same name in the film and the love it has received from the audience makes the title even more fitting.”
Earlier, Salman had released a new version of the track I am From HomelandWhich includes Chitrangada. Shot in black and white, the video focuses on love, longing and separation. The original version of the song described the emotional journey of a soldier’s family and paid tribute to the sacrifices made by soldiers and their families.
