On Thursday, the entire nation woke up to the shocking news of the brutal attack on Saif Ali Khan at his Bandra residence. While this unfortunate incident has created concern across the fraternity, Deva star Shahid Kapoor among many Bollywood celebrities has called it a ‘sad’ incident and also admitted to being shocked about it.
On January 17, Shahid Kapoor attended the trailer launch event of his upcoming action entertainer, Deva, which was attended by the entire team. During the press interaction the actor was asked what he would do with criminals who attack actors. In response, Shahid handled the situation very well and responded with utmost maturity.
He said, “What you are saying is a very sad incident and we are all concerned. We are all very, very concerned about the community.” It was further said that it would have been respectable if the question had been asked directly.
What did Shahid Kapoor say?
The actor said that he is looking forward to Saif Ali Khan’s health and hopes that he will feel better. “I think we were all very surprised by what happened…that much personal space is a very difficult thing to absorb (intrusion).”
The Deva actor expressed his belief that Mumbai is a safe place to live, and he is sure that the police are doing their job. He said that one proudly says that his family members, especially women, can walk safely on the road even at midnight. Lastly, Shahid called it a “shocking incident” and hoped that Saif would recover soon. “We are hoping and praying for them all the time,” he said.
The trailer of Shahid Kapoor’s film Deva has already been released. This much-awaited film is directed by Roshan Andrews. The film stars Pooja Hegde in the lead role and Kubbra Sait and Pavail Gulati in important roles. Presented by Zee Studios and Roy Kapur Films, it is produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur and Umesh Kumar Bansal. It will be released in theaters on 31 January 2025.
