Sai Pallavi’s portrayal of Maitreyi in the 2021 romantic period drama Shyam Singha Roy left a lasting impression among her fans. However, during a recent interview, the actress revealed how hectic the shooting schedule of the film was, where she had to work all night and it was difficult to even take a day off.
Speaking to Galatta Plus, Sai Pallavi remembered struggling to get enough sleep, as the shooting would go on all night and she would have to come back again the next morning.
She revealed that she struggled with it all for 30 days, but at one point she started crying wondering if she could take a day off. Sai Pallavi revealed that since she does not like working at night, she finds it difficult to continue night shoots.
He said, “I am one of those people who do not sleep during the day. So, imagine staying up all night, and imagine waking up again the next day. This continued not just for one or two days, but for about 30 days. I remember crying once and thinking in my mind, ‘I want to act in films, but I just wish I could get a day off.’
However, despite thinking of taking a day off, he did not tell anyone about the challenge he faced, until one day his sister saw him crying and immediately knocked on the door of the producer and asked him to make Sai Pallavi. Asked to give one day leave.
Surprisingly, the filmmakers were quite disappointed to learn about his difficulty and were happy to grant him several days leave so that he could return to the set only when he was ready.
The actress revealed that the entire cast and crew of the film actually looked up to her as a child and they loved her very much. Therefore, her requirement of a day off was not considered an unwanted demand of an actress by any member of the shooting set.
On the work front, Sai Pallavi recently gave an applause-worthy and mesmerizing performance in the Shiva Karthikeyan starrer Amaran. The simplicity of his look and unmatched versatility of his performance created a special place among the audiences who loved biographical war dramas.
For those unaware, she played Indu Rebecca Varghese, wife of martyr Major Mukund Varadarajan, in the Rajkumar Periyasamy directed film.
