Hollywood star Ryan Reynolds recently revealed how he once feared he would never get the chance to wear the Deadpool costume. The actor also revealed that the franchise was initially pitched as a road trip movie.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Ryan Reynolds said, “I didn’t know if I would ever be able to play Deadpool again. It’s not something I would say publicly, but I didn’t know.”
The actor also revealed that in the initial days, the films were pitched as indie road-trip comedies.
“Really, it was a $5 or $6 million budget with no special effects. It was a talkie-talkie road trip with me and (Karan Soni’s character) Dopinder and some things we collected and saw along the way. It wasn’t an event movie. If we’re heading to Point C, that means something to get us to Point B. It was the weirdest. I loved it. I thought it was fun,” Reynolds shared of one of the early pitches for the franchise.
Meanwhile, Deadpool and Wolverine will release in theaters on July 26.
