Robert de Niro to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 78th Cannes Festival

Famous actor Robert de Niro will receive honorary Palme D’Or for his lifetime achievements at the 78th Cannes Film Festival. This is an important return for D Nero, which has a rich history with the festival.

Veteran actor and filmmaker Robert De Niro will receive the prestigious honorary honorary Palme D’Or at the opening ceremony of the 78th Cannes Film Festival in May. The ceremony will take place on 13 May – Dero as the chairman of Cannes Jury in 2011 after De Niro, just 14 years after De Niro.

De Nero shared a stored history with the French festival. He first appeared in 1976 with two films in Cannes, 1900 from Bernardo Bertoluchi and a taxi driver of Martin Scorsce, later earned the prestigious Palame D’Or. His Sangh continued with the inauguration of the festival such as The King of Comedy (1983) and Once Upon a Time in America (1984), followed by the mission in 1986, which brought him a second Palme D’Or.

Recently, he returned to Cannes in 2023 for the killers of The Flower Moon Scorscs.

Calling the festival a “A Homcaming”, De Nero praised the ear for united the filmmakers, storytellers and fans to unite. Apart from the Lifetime Achievement Award, he will also hold a masterclass for the people present in the debut theater on 14 May. The 78th Cannes Film Festival will run from 13 May to 24, 2025.
