Riteish Deshmukh has several projects in the pipeline. Most of these are sequels of blockbuster projects like ‘Masti’, ‘Dhamaal’ and ‘Housefull’. In an exclusive interview with IndiaToday.in, Riteish talked about his upcoming films, completing two decades in the film industry and working in different genres.

Riteish, who is currently seen in ‘Pill X’, spoke to us about his upcoming films. He said, “I have three back-to-back projects. I am doing ‘Masti 4’, ‘Dhamaal 4’ and ‘Housefull 5’. I am extremely excited for this reunion with my fellow co-actors and directors.”

The actor also shed light on what are the main factors to be relevant. He said, “I think the choices are in our hands when we choose a film, but the outcome of that film is not in our hands. One can’t really decide if it will be successful or not. For any actor to survive for a long time, it is very important that the work we do is appreciated. Whether we come on screen again or not depends on the success of the film. I have been fortunate enough to have these successes intermittently or more frequently and in my case, it worked out for me. So, I have been very lucky in that regard.”

Ritesh spoke to us about what his life mantra is to stay in the competition. He said, “I truly believe that everyone has different talents. One can be great at one thing, while another can be great at something else. You should be comfortable at work; have great respect for your co-stars, value your and others’ time, do your job well and go back home.”

The actor further added, “If that’s all you can do, you will survive in this industry much longer than someone else who may be more talented than you but doesn’t respect his work or the people he works with. As long as you are successful, people can tolerate your disrespect towards them. But once your time passes and you are not as successful or not successful at all, you will not be respected. But your good behaviour is a good push and a great buffer for those times when the tide is against you.”

Riteish also spoke about maintaining a work-life balance, “I have a great support system at home. I am able to live my personal life away from my work as I have a great family. When I go back home, I forget all the good or bad things that happened on the set. All I care about is having a good meal with my family. I don’t carry my set luggage, I just leave it at the doorstep. The most gratifying part of being an actor for me is that through my roles, I have been able to play a vital role in making them smile or laugh when they are going through their sad moments.”

He also added, “Over time, my selection process has also evolved and changed as far as choosing my films is concerned. Today, I am at a point where I want to work with people I respect and enjoy working with and I want to do the kind of work I haven’t done before. I also have a small production house where I am working on a few Marathi films, which takes up most of my time.”

Apart from ‘Pill X’, Ritesh was also seen in ‘Kakuda’.
