Rishi Kapoor is remembered for his immense contribution to Hindi cinema for several decades. Rishi has left behind a rich legacy with his versatile acting, be it playing the role of teenage lover Raja in Bobby (1973) or drug mafia Rauf Lala in Agneepath (2012). On his birth anniversary today (September 4), his daughter Riddhima Kapoor Sahni remembered the late actor, saying Rhea is “mini you”. Riddhima also said that she wished he could have spent time with his granddaughters Rhea Kapoor and Samara Kapoor Sahni.
On Wednesday, Riddhima Kapoor shared an old photo of her father Rishi Kapoor on Instagram, in which he is seen spending time with his granddaughter Riddhima’s daughter Samara. In the old photo in her Instagram story, Rishi and Samara are seen looking at his birthday cake placed on the table.
The jewellery designer wrote a long and emotional note remembering her late father. In the caption, she wrote that his granddaughter Raha resembles him. An overwhelmed Riddhima also shared that she misses him a lot and her love for him “grows deeper with each passing day”.
The caption read, “Happy Birthday Papa (followed by a red heart emoji). Wish you are celebrating your special day with both your granddaughters.” Riddhima referred to her daughter Samara as “Bandari”, which Rishi used to call her, and revealed that she has “grown up”. She further added, “And baby Raha is the cutest. She is a little glimpse of you.”
“Papa, I will always cherish the memories we were able to share. We miss you so much and our love for you grows stronger with each passing day,” she wrote alongside a red heart emoji.
For those who don’t know, Raha is the daughter of Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt.

Neetu Kapoor also remembered her late husband Rishi Kapoor. Neetu has posted several old pictures of Rishi on Instagram. In a picture posted on her Instagram story, Neetu can be seen posing with husband Rishi, daughter Riddhima and granddaughter Samara. The picture in question seems to have been clicked during his cancer treatment in New York.
Neetu reposted Riddhima’s Instagram story which shows Rishi and Samara hanging out together in the past. In another Instagram story, the JugJugg Jeeyo actress mixed up two pictures of the late actor which include his younger and older versions. In one of the memories, the Bobby actor is seen looking very serious in the back. He is wearing a blue shirt.
In the second memory, Rishi is seen wearing a black ethnic outfit and keeping his hands forward. The late actor is seen spreading his smile in it. Neetu wrote, “Happy Birthday Rishi Ji.” After this she made a red heart emoji.

Rishi Kapoor was born on 4 September 1952. He was the second son of Indian cinema’s greatest showman Raj Kapoor and his wife Krishna Raj Kapoor. Rishi was diagnosed with leukemia in 2018 and went to New York for treatment. He returned to Mumbai in 2019.
Later, Rishi Kapoor breathed his last on April 30, 2020, before completing his film Sharmaji Namkeen. It was released posthumously after his demise and Paresh Rawal replaced him to complete the film in 2022.
