An Arab woman in Sharjah has appeared in the Sharjah Misdemeanor Court after accusing her neighbor of abusing her phone calls to harass her. The case highlights that everyday communication tools, although designed to make life easier, can sometimes lead to disputes when used excessively.According to a report in Gulf Today, the woman would often visit her neighbor in her residential building and would usually coordinate these visits in advance to confirm that it was a convenient time.On one occasion, the neighbor invited him over. Later the woman called again to confirm the meeting before going to the apartment. However, his repeated calls for confirmation were reportedly considered excessive by the neighbor.The situation eventually worsened when the neighbor decided to file a lawsuit against the woman, accusing her of misusing the telephone service to harass him.During the hearing, the accused named FN denied the allegations. She told the court that her neighbor had invited her and she moved into the apartment after accepting the invitation.She said when the door was opened but no one answered, she tried calling several times to check what had happened.After hearing the statements, the court decided to adjourn the session, with the verdict to be pronounced at a later date.
