Rhea Chakraborty: Forced to walk the path of forgiveness but did not forgive everyone

Actress Rhea Chakraborty recently opened up about the intense trolling and scrutiny she faced after Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. Speaking about her experience in jail after being arrested by the NCB in 2020, Rhea also revealed that she hasn’t forgiven everyone yet and that some people are still on her ‘hit list’.
Talking about trolls and why it doesn’t bother her anymore, Rhea explained Humans of Bombay that she was ‘forced’ to choose the path of forgiveness. She said, “Initially, I didn’t think I would have the courage in my heart to forgive whatever had happened. But, it turned out to be the easier way because I was very angry for a long time. The anger only led to stomach problems and acidity. I suffered very badly from acidity for almost three years. Forgiveness became the only option. I was almost forced to take the path of forgiveness.”
She further added, “If I’m being completely honest, I haven’t forgiven everyone. Some people are on my hit list. If it so happens that my life takes me to a place where I’m not powerless, and I can muster the necessary power and social influence to put things right, then I will do it.”
Sharing her experience in jail, Rhea said that every day feels like a year. “Everyone is a number, you are not a person. When you are in jail under trial, you are a Uttam number. It’s a strange world, it’s a very evolved crowd. Because it’s just the most basic part of human emotion. It’s survival. You have to survive every day, and every day feels like a year. It takes a long time for a day to end because you are literally doing nothing. There it stops,” she said.
Rhea Chakraborty, who was dating Sushant Singh Rajput at the time, was arrested in September 2020 for allegedly procuring drugs for him. She spent 28 days in Byculla jail before getting bail.
