Revolver Rita starring Keerthy Suresh in the lead role was released in theaters on November 28, 2025. After completing its theatrical run, the film is now available for streaming on Netflix.
If you are planning to watch the movie on OTT, here is the Pinkvilla review for you to read.
plot
Revolver Rita is the story of Rita, a spunky and courageous woman who works at a fast-food restaurant. She lives with her mother and sister after losing her father at an early age, and eventually becomes the breadwinner of the family after her mother passes away.
However, Rita’s quiet life in Pondicherry is shattered when a family celebration goes wrong, resulting in the death of Dracula Pandian, a powerful gangster who accidentally enters her house after escaping from a rival gang.
The rest of the film focuses on how she deals with this dangerous situation, protects her family, and whether she manages to save everyone from the police and the gangster’s son.
Good
Keerthy Suresh gives a solid performance as the protagonist in this dark humor crime film. The actress, along with Radhika Sarathkumar, maintains her grip at crucial junctures, providing some solace in what ultimately turns out to be a messy end product. His performance and comic timing result in some lighthearted laughs, even if the film as a whole isn’t memorable.
Some of the other members of the cast also try their best to make it an entertaining watch, even if their efforts don’t add much to the film overall.
bad
Revolver Rita is a messy film, largely due to a poor combination of weak writing and dull execution. Although the film would have been enjoyable a decade ago, it ultimately fails and tests the audience’s patience.
Unnecessary writing and caricature-like characters make the film lazy, with only the actors trying to save the sinking ship. Additionally, Radin Kingsley once again comes across as annoying rather than comical, repeating the same comedy track and awkward dialogue that once made him popular. At this point his performance feels saturated and unbearable.
The uncreative jokes and treatment make the film feel like a lazy imitation of Nayanthara-starrer Kolamavu Kokila, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar.
Even from a technical standpoint, the visuals don’t offer anything fresh or memorable. Poor production design along with poor editing and pacing problems further plague the film.
Additionally, music director Shawn Roldan attempts to recreate a dark comic atmosphere similar to others in this genre, but the results are never achieved by Anirudh Ravichander (Kolamaavu Kokila) or Santhosh Narayanan in the film Soodhu Kavvam.
Display
Keerthy Suresh has tried her best to make the film entertaining, which is well supported by Radhika Sarathkumar. His efforts make the film somewhat watchable, even if they ultimately seem futile.
Sunil even manages to save the film at some points, even if the writing and other performances become dull.

Decision
Revolver Rita starring Keerthy Suresh is a dark humor crime comedy, which fails to hold a strong foothold in any of the sub-genres. Apart from a few small moments, the film fails and remains boring, making it easily skipped in both theaters and OTT.
