Renuka Swamy case: Jailed actor Darshan Thoogudeepa makes inappropriate gesture to media after coming out of jail

Actor Darshan Thoogudeepa’s arrest and alleged involvement in the murder of Renuka Swamy has made a lot of headlines in the last few months. The actor, who has now been moved to Bellary jail under tight security, recently grabbed everyone’s attention by showing his middle finger to the media.

As reported by Deccan Chronicle, in a video that has gone viral on the internet, Darshan Thoogudeepa can be seen walking out of the jail within the stipulated 30 minutes to meet his wife Vijayalakshmi and brother Dinakar. Moreover, the accused actor has also been given a separate time slot to meet his lawyers and discuss the chargesheet submitted for the case.

However, as soon as Darshan saw the media standing outside clicking his photo, he was seen showing his middle finger to all of them. Within no time, this video went viral on social media and everyone was shocked.

Well, a few weeks ago, a leaked photo of Darshan from the lawn of Karnataka’s Parappana Agrahara Central Jail had created a stir, with the actor getting VIP privileges despite being the second accused in a brutal murder case.

Following the hue and cry over the matter, shortly after, the 24th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate passed an order transferring Darshan to the hard cell of Bellary jail.

The chargesheet in the Renuka Swamy case was filed on September 10, 2024, and in it, Darshan Thoogudeepa admitted to brutally beating the victim, which eventually led to her death.

He said that he hit Renuka Swamy on her neck and chest with a wooden stick. Darshan also said that he asked his partner and actress Pavithra Gowda to hit the victim with shoes, due to which she was badly injured.

Let us inform you that Renuka Swamy was found dead in Bengaluru on June 8, 2024. After a thorough investigation and resolution of the case, Darshan Thoogudeepa was arrested two days later on June 11, 2024, for his alleged involvement in the murder.
