Xioami sub-brand Redmi is set to launch its new entry-level smartphone Redmi A4 in India this month. According to recent reports, Redmi A4 will be the company’s first 5G smartphone which will be priced below Rs 10,000. Unveiled during IMC 2024, the phone will be equipped with a Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 chip. As soon as the company revealed the phone, Xiaomi India President Muralikrishnan B also said that the phone will arrive by the end of the year. But rumor has it that it’s coming in late November. Redmi A4: specs and features

Despite being revealed at IMC 2024 several weeks ago, the Redmi A4 5G is still awaiting release in India. The phone appears to have a round, glossy camera module on the back, a design that resembles the Redmi A3 (4G) but with a glossy finish. Its frame is flat, the volume and power buttons are located on the right side. The A3 model had a fingerprint sensor integrated into its power button, so it’s possible that the A4 could follow suit. The 3.5 mm headphone jack is located on the top edge of the phone.

In the display, two color options – black and silver – were shown. It is rumored to include a 6.7-inch HD+ IPS LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate. As for the camera, the device may have a 50-megapixel rear sensor and an 8-megapixel front camera. Powering the phone may be a 5,000mAh battery that supports 18W wired charging, which is an upgrade from the 10W charger on the A3.

Under the hood, the A4 5G may feature the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 chipset, expected to be introduced in July 2024. Built on Samsung’s 4nm architecture, this octa-core processor has two Cortex-A78 cores clocked at up to 2GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores. Up to 1.8GHz. It is compatible with LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 3.1 storage, providing a strong foundation for performance.

Redmi A4: price

During IMC 2024, the company revealed that Redmi A4 will be the first entry-level 5G phone with Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 chip. Its price will be less than Rs 10,000. More details are expected to be revealed during the launch. It is speculated that it will come in a single configuration, with 4GB of RAM along with 128GB of storage.

In a similar development, Xiaomi is also considering launching another smartphone, the Redmi Note 14 series. This phone is expected to be launched in India in December. The standard edition is expected to pack a MediaTek Dimensity 7025 Ultra chipset, 5110mAh battery, 45W fast charging speed, 6.67-inch 120Hz OLED panel, 50-megapixel main camera, and Android 14-based HyperOS.
