Adapted from Warner Bros.’ hit global format Reality Queens of the Jungle, the Indian version is set to cater to the growing demand for reality TV among Indian audiences. Set against the stunning backdrop of the Himalayan jungles, the show challenges a group of powerful women, pushing them to their physical and mental limits.

The first episode of Reality Queens of the Jungle premiered on September 23, introducing a dynamic lineup of contestants: Pavitra Punia, Ekasha Kerung, Babika Dhurve, Arushi Chawla, Krisann Barretto Karamchandani, Mrinal Shankar, Sifat Sehgal, Jeevika Tyagi, Meera Jagannath, Tejasswi Madivada, Anjali Schmuck and Christina Biju. Each of these fierce women is determined to survive the elements of nature, sports and each other during their stay in the jungle.

In the first episode, the contestants were given a ‘grand welcome’ where they were given a unique challenge. Divided into pairs, they were tasked with completing specially prepared dishes. The winning pair will get the power to eliminate the other team from the captaincy task, thereby losing their immunity.

In this thrilling round, which also involved fish, Pavitra Punia and Tejaswi Madivada emerged victorious and secured their place in the competition. They used their advantage to eliminate Christina and Chrisann from the captaincy race.

For their second course, the contestants faced an even tougher test as they were served goat brains. Despite struggling hard to digest the dish, Pavitra Punia and Tejaswi Madivada claimed victory once again. With their second win, they eliminated Arushi and Eka from the captaincy race, further strengthening their dominance in the competition.

As the competition heated up, the third and fourth challenges raised the stakes, with the contestants being served goat’s eyes and testicles. Dominating both rounds, Pavitra Punia and Tejaswi Madivada won consecutively and eliminated Anjali, Mrinal, Jeevika and Sifat from the captaincy race.

Looking at the first challenging task, it seems like the game is completely based on endurance where the contestants will have to conquer their fears and fight to become the Queen of the Jungle and take home the trophy along with the prize money of Rs 20 lakh.

After the task, Pavitra and Tejasswi became the first two captains of the house and they selected their teams.

Backed by Warner Bros. Discovery, the show is about these queens turning the jungle into their runway as they set out to take over the jungle, unleashing their fierce energy and unstoppable spirit. Given the tough terrain and the challenges they face, the concept looks different from the usual stunt-based reality shows.

The 10-episode reality series airs Monday-Tuesday at 10 pm on Discovery Channel and Discovery+.
