Aarti Ravi had earlier approached the Family Welfare Court alleging that Ravi Mohan has not paid interim maintenance from April 2025, which also includes the amount of school fees of her children. According to his plea, the petition was not taken up for hearing, following which he moved the Madras High Court seeking direction for an expedited hearing of his interim maintenance application.

Acting on his request, the High Court had directed the Family Welfare Court to hear the petition and pass appropriate orders within two weeks. Ravi Mohan then filed a fresh petition before the High Court seeking extension of time given to the lower court to complete the proceedings.

The matter came before Justice Abdul Quddoz. During the hearing, senior advocate J Raveendran, appearing for Aarthi, opposed the request and argued against any extension of the deadline fixed earlier by the High Court.

After hearing both the sides, Justice Abdul Quddos rejected Ravi Mohan’s plea seeking additional time. The court also directed the actor to approach the Family Welfare Court for any further relief related to the proceedings pending before it. Along with this, the previous instruction to settle the interim maintenance petition within the stipulated period will remain in force.

This development comes weeks after Ravi broke down in tears at an emotional press meet in Chennai, where he had announced his decision to quit acting till his divorce is finalised. During the press conference, he also talked about his divorce without mentioning Artie’s name (as the divorce case is still ongoing) and addressed his relationship with singer-spiritual therapist Kenesha Francis.

This emotional outburst came when Kenesha Francis wrote a cryptic note hinting at ending her existing relationship with Ravi and leaving Chennai, giving up her career as a musician and a doctor. Over the past few months, Ravi and Kenisha were spotted together at several events and their PDA (public display of affection) made headlines several times.

On the film front, Ravi Mohan recently joined the cast Benz With Raghava Lawrence and Nivin Pauly. He is also shooting for his directorial debut. an ordinary man.
