This week Udaipur wasn’t just the backdrop for a grand wedding, it became a trip down memory lane for Ranveer Singh. The actor was among the guests at the lavish wedding celebrations of Nethra Mantena and tech entrepreneur Vamsi Gadiraju, held from November 21 to 23, and during the sangeet ceremony he reflected on how the city quietly shaped his love story with actor-wife Deepika Padukone.

Speaking to the crowd, Ranveer talked about how Udaipur is connected to one of the biggest turning points in his life. “I want to tell you, Udaipur is like a lucky charm for love stories. I have shot a film named ‘Ramlila’ here. Have you seen it?” he asked with a smile. The audience responded with applause.

He recalled the early days of his relationship with Deepika Padukone. “It was back then, and I was acting opposite you Sister in lawSingh further said, our love story blossomed during the long Udaipur schedule of ‘Ramlila’,

Ranveer and Deepika first met in 2013 on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ramleela’. Their on-screen pairing later extended to ‘Bajirao Mastani’, ‘Padmaavat’ and ’83’, cementing their reputation as one of Bollywood’s most loved on and off-screen couples.

Reminiscing about the relationship since then, the ‘Dhurandhar’ actor shared, “Netra and Vamsi, since then, it’s been 13 years together, seven years of marriage and a beautiful baby girl! So you see, Udaipur is very lucky for love stories!”

Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone got married in Lake Como, Italy in 2018 and welcomed their daughter Dua last year.
