Ranbir Kapoor is one of the finest actors in Hindi cinema. Ranbir, who lost his father and veteran actor Rishi Kapoor four years ago, has opened up about his ‘unfriendly’ relationship with the actor.
The Animal actor recently spoke about Rishi Kapoor and his relationship with his late father.
Ranbir Kapoor recalls how Rishi Kapoor was as a father
During YouTuber Nikhil Kamath’s podcast ‘People with WTF’, Ranbir Kapoor spoke about Rishi Kapoor’s nature and how the Animal actor used to show respect towards him.
In the trailer promo, Ranbir can be heard saying, “My father was a very short-tempered person, but he was a very nice person. I never saw the colour of his eyes.”
He bowed his head and said, “I have always been like this. I never said ‘no’.”
When Ranbir Kapoor said that he is not friendly with Rishi Kapoor
Last year, during the pre-release event of Animal in Hyderabad, Ranbir Kapoor had opened up about his late father Rishi Kapoor.
Ranbir revealed that his father Rishi Kapoor used to travel a lot and hence they couldn’t maintain a friendly relationship with each other. The Rockstar actor said that he still regrets that they couldn’t spend enough time with each other.
The Brahmastra star further added that he respects his late father, but “was never friendly” with him.
Ranbir Kapoor calls his father Rishi Kapoor the ‘real troll’
Earlier this year, during an episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show, Ranbir had joked that Rishi Kapoor was the “original troll” even before social media came into existence. Recalling a childhood incident, the actor said that his father would call his aunt after drinking two glasses of “nimbu paani” and tease her over the phone.
For those who don’t know, apart from his illustrious career, Rishi Kapoor was also famous for his outspoken personality and short temper. The Mulk actor was diagnosed with a blood cancer called leukemia in 2018 and died due to its complications on April 30, 2020.
Ranbir Kapoor was last seen in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film Animal in 2023. Now he will be seen in Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming film Ramayan. It also stars Sai Pallavi in the lead role.
