Ranbir Kapoor has received equal amounts of love and criticism over the past decades. In 2018, he played the lead role in Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanju, which is based on the life of Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt. Last year he was a part of Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal. While both the films did good business at the box office, they also received negative reviews from a certain section of cinema lovers. Kapoor reacted to this in an interview.
During a media interaction, Ranbir Kapoor was asked what kind of message his films Sanju and Animal have given to the cinema lovers. Addressing the criticism the film received, a journalist said that mass entertainment has shown a lot of negativity and violence in society.
After listening patiently to the magazine, the Ae Dil Hai Mushkil actor started by saying that he agreed with the media professional’s opinion. Ranbir further said that as an actor, it is his responsibility to make films that bring positive change in the society. But having said that, after all, he is an actor and it is important that he acts in different characters and in different genres of films.
“But what you are saying is absolutely right. We have to be more responsible towards the kind of films we make,” concludes Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar. Meanwhile, on the work front, Kapoor is currently working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali in Love & War alongside Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal.
During his recent appearance at the 50th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa, he expressed his immense excitement to collaborate with the renowned filmmaker after 17 years.
RK said, “I am extremely excited, and even now, I mean he is my godfather, and everything I know about films and acting is something I have learned from him. For me, Working with him again after 17 years, it still feels the same, I am still in awe of him and I still respect him.
He further said, “He (Sanjay) has not changed at all. He is an extremely hard-working person, he only thinks about his films. He just wants to talk about the character, he wants you to create something and do something different. very exciting.”
Ranbir also has Ramayan: Part 1 in the pipeline.
