Actor Rabir Kapoor has taken another visionary step in his cinematic career. According to reports, he has invested in the global VFX legend Dneg, which has made the visual effects of ‘Ramayana’.

Actor Ranbir Kapoor has made a big jump in his professional career from Bollywood to Wall Street. He is only playing the role of Lord Ram in Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana’, but has also invested in prime focus, who owns the Global VFX giant – Double Negative (DNEG).
Oscar-vinning VFX investment in veteran
Ranbir, who played the role of Lord Ram in Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana’, has invested Rs 15 crore in a film, as told by ET MarketThe report said that his huge feat has increased the company’s shares by more than 90%.
Ranbir has acquired 12.5 lakh shares of Prime Focus, the company behind the visual effects of ‘Ramayana’. Their investment of Rs 15 crore is around Rs 15 crore. Estimates have also mentioned that since April, Prime Focus Stock has jumped over 90%, which is a record of Rs 175 from Rs 85. The increase in stock of the company has so far released the first glimpse of ‘Ramayana’ on July 3, 2025.
The Prime Focus has double negative (DNEG), behind the Oscar winning films, behind films like ‘Tetnet’, ‘Dune: Part 2’ and ‘Openhaymer’. Dneg has received eight Academy Awards in the years. The visual effects of ‘Ramayana’ have led a huge budget of Rs 4000 crore spread over two parts. An India Today report quoted a source as saying, “The film is being placed internationally and as long as both films are made, the budget will reach more than Rs 4000 crore. The team is making a special impact to give world class VFX and the best experience to the audience.”

Anticipation
The prime focus, in which Ranbir has invested, is owned by the manufacturer Namit Malhotra, who is also supporting the ‘Ramayana’. NAMIT is also the CEO of its British-Indian assistant DNEG, who specializes in visual effects. In addition to the grand scenery, the action sequence of the film is designed by ‘Mad Max’ stunt director Gai Noris. About two months ago, actor Yash was seen shooting for an intensive scene with Noris.
