Ranbir Kapoor and Yash starrer Ramayana is among the most awaited Indian films. The bill on a huge production cost, the film has a contingent of actors, which includes some highly talented actors from across the country. According to media reports, Star Cast has grown with new entry.
Known for its magnificent acting skills in the company, Omkara, Krrish 3, and others, Vivek Oberoi is designed to play an important role in the film. Allegedly, the actor will be seen donating the character of Vidyutjihv, who was a demon prince and husband of Sarpanak, a demon of the Daiti clan played by Rakul Preet Singh. His character is expected to be in a battlefield with the demon king Ravana, which is being played by Yash.
Unlike other media reports, neither Anil Kapoor nor Wickran Massey have joined Mega Starcast. He was playing the role of Raja Janak and Rajkumar Meghnad in the film. However, a source close to development has rubbed the reports.
For Anward, Ramayana is currently being shot on a grand scale under the direction of Nitesh Tiwari. The film stars Lord Rama as Ranbir Kapoor, Mata Sita as Sai Pallavi, Yash as Ravana, and Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman. Apart from the leading star cast, the film has a strong dress which includes Ravi Dubey, Arun Govil, Indira Krishnan, Lara Dutta, Amitabh Bachchan, Kunal Kapoor, Kajal Aggarwal and others.
This will be a two-part large screen cinematic experience. While Ramayana Part is closed for release at Diwali 2026, Part 2 will come to Diwali 2027. Interestingly, both parts are currently in production and are being shot together at once.
Bancolds by Namit Malhotra and Yash have a budget of about 1000 million USD (Rs 835 crore) in The Mithology Epic Drama, which makes it the most expensive film of Indian cinema. Interestingly, this shocking figure is allocated only for the first part. The producers are planning to go global with this epic Indian story and are interacting with Warner Brothers Pictures to form a team for their foreign distribution.
