Rakul Preet talks about Jackky Bhagnani’s financial struggles after Bade Mian
Rakul Preet Singh has addressed the rumors related to Pooja Entertainment’s financial troubles and clarified that despite the losses after Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan, the company is not closing down. He said that sensational reporting has exaggerated the situation and that financial fluctuations are common in the film industry.
Pooja Entertainment, led by Vashu Bhagnani and his son Jackky Bhagnani, recently faced significant financial challenges after their film Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan in 2024 failed at the box office. The losses led to widespread speculation about the company’s stability, including reports of unpaid payments and mass layoffs. Actor Rakul Preet Singh, who is married to Jackky Bhagnani, has now addressed these issues, provided clarity about the situation and dismissed claims of the company being shut down.
Speaking about the intense scrutiny and media coverage, Rakul Preet Singh said, “You are also part of the business, so you know that today we are in a clickbait culture. You know the reality and what is really happening, and I have seen that entire phase, so it doesn’t matter. Tomorrow, someone can write something about me, and it doesn’t matter because he knows me. Being part of the industry, you have to cut through the noise. You don’t get influenced by what people say. Can, because most of the time people will not say the right thing. We are in a culture where sensational news runs and we have to be honest with each other.
He further told what difficulties the family had to face during this period. “It was a very challenging time for the family and for them. But a lot of things that were said in the news were not true. No company has shut down. I didn’t even know because I don’t read. I wasn’t worried because I knew things beforehand. Yes, it’s true that two to three films didn’t work and that was a big blow which led to a lot of financial loss, but it happens with every producer. Even it happened with Amitabh Bachchan at one point of time. It’s all a phase.” Rakul Preet Singh attended.
Financial difficulties following the commercial failure of the film included reports of a debt of around Rs 250 crore, the sale of their Mumbai office and significant staff cuts. Despite these challenges, industry insiders and the Bhagnani family have denied rumors of bankruptcy or company closure, and have said that these difficulties are part of the business landscape for filmmakers.
Jackky Bhagnani addressed the situation saying, “I would like to say that the returns are not even less than 50%. I don’t think anyone can understand what our pain was. As a family, we have mortgaged our property to make this film. We realized that there is no point in saying or explaining anything.” The family is focused on moving forward from this difficult period.

Directed by Anshul Sharma, the romantic comedy is based on the Khurana family as they deal with their daughter’s relationship with an older man. The film also stars Ajay Devgan, Javed Jaffrey, R.
