Rajkummar Rao’s wife Patralekhaa on being ‘upset’ by pregnancy rumours: ‘I am a girl and I have my days…’

Actress and Rajkummar Rao’s wife Patralekhaa recently spoke about the persistent rumours about her pregnancy and discussed how emotionally damaging it has been to her. In a recent interview, she expressed her annoyance at the constant speculations, explaining that people jump to conclusions whenever her belly looks a little bloated. “I am a woman, and there are days when I don’t feel well,” she stressed.

Patralekhaa recently spoke about how the false pregnancy rumours have affected her, especially when her appearance, such as looking puffy, leads to unnecessary speculations. In a conversation with Galata India, she admitted that although the rumours initially bothered her, she has learnt to ignore the comments. She explained that as a woman, she has days when she doesn’t feel good about herself, but that doesn’t mean she is pregnant. Now, she just looks at her pictures and moves on without paying much attention to the rumours.

The actress also spoke about the constant public scrutiny she faces, revealing how people often criticise everything from her clothes to her hairstyle. “I think, what is it? They have a problem with what you wear, what you don’t wear or whether your hair is done right or not. I think that’s what comes with it,” she said.

Patralekhaa and Rajkummar Rao got married on November 15, 2021, and have worked together on various projects, including the highly acclaimed film Citylights and the web series Bose: Dead/Alive.

On the professional front, Patralekhaa is set to appear in Anubhav Sinha’s IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack, which will premiere on Netflix on August 29, 2024. The series also stars Dia Mirza, Kumud Mishra, Manoj Pahwa, Divyendu Bhattacharya, Arvind Swami, Amrita Puri, Pooja Gor and Yashpal Sharma. The series depicts the hijacking of Indian Airlines flight IC 814 on December 24, 1999, which was taken to Kandahar under the control of the Taliban. Apart from this, Patralekhaa will be seen in the series Gulkanda Tales, directed by Raj and DK.

On the other hand, Rajkummar Rao is currently celebrating the success of his recent film Stree 2, which has received a good response since its release on August 15. Directed by Amar Kaushik, the film takes forward the story of the 2018 hit Stree, wherein Chanderi is now threatened by a new evil spirit named Sarkata.

Rajkummar reprises his role, alongside Shraddha Kapoor. The sequel also features a surprise appearance by Varun Dhawan as Bhediya. Despite facing competition from Akshay Kumar and Taapsee Pannu’s Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham’s Veda, Stree 2 is performing strongly at the box office.
