“As an actor, the most important thing for me is that the film should be good. I want to be a part of those films which people watch. Rajkummar Rao told us during the conversation, whether there are two or two lakh people watching my films, ultimately they have to enjoy watching my film and ultimately that is what matters to me, because I should be proud of the film.

He further added, “The feeling of a good film performing exceptionally well at the box office definitely cannot be matched. This feeling is the most gratifying because, as an actor, you know you have performed well. ” The film has turned out amazing and now that it is open to the audience, they have really enjoyed it too – the feeling is surreal.

Talking about his most underrated performance, which is very close to his heart, Rajkummar Rao said, “Sometimes it happens that when you make a good film, for some reason it turns out to be that good. Is not able to do well or is not able to perform well at the box office. , For example, I did a movie called Trapped, which I’m very proud of, but it had a very limited release and it didn’t really catch much attention at the time. But, having said that, this is a film that I am as proud of as I am of any of my other films that did well at the box office. Trapped will also be a part of my filmography because despite its performance at the box office, it is a film that I am proud to have done.”

He further said, “On the other hand, there are films like ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’, ‘Badhaai Do’, ‘Stree’, ‘Mr and Mrs Mahi’, ‘Srikanth’ which people like and appreciate simultaneously. You give your heart and soul to a film, to your character and people ultimately like it, appreciate it and love you for your hard work and your honesty, I think that’s the biggest thing. Matters to me.

Talking more about Trapped and Bareilly Ki Barfi in particular, Rajkummar Rao shared, “People who watched Trapped always come up to me and say how much they loved it. In fact, when it came on OTT, a lot of people watched it, and then people saw my sincerity as an actor in playing that role. In my career, I potentially feel that everything I have experienced or achieved has come very naturally. After ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’, when people saw me doing comedy for the first time, a lot of things changed for me, because at that time I mostly did dramas, so many people did not even imagine about me doing a comic role. Was done. But, how I look at it is that I am just playing my role and what is expected of me as a character for that particular role. The honesty I had towards my character in Shahid, with the same honesty I have done Bareilly or Stree or any other commercial film, which I am doing next time.

That video of Rajkummar Rao and Trupti Dimri-starrer Vicky Vidya All set to release in theaters on 11th October 2024.
