Veteran actor Rajinikanth has reacted strongly to the online leak of Jan Naygandescribed it as a moment of “shock and pain” for the industry. In a statement, the superstar urged film bodies to take a tough stance and called on the authorities to identify those responsible and impose strict punishment.

Highlighting the damage it causes to filmmakers and the wider industry, he stressed that such acts of piracy should not be allowed to continue. Their response comes amid growing outrage after parts, and reportedly, in some cases, the majority of the film, surfaced online.

How have actors and industry members reacted?

Many actors have expressed concern over the leak. Vishal described the situation as “really disappointing”, and said that “so much effort, dedication and work has been wasted”. Stating that he is a long-time fan of Vijay, he said that he hopes audiences will still get to experience the film in theaters even if circumstances change its release format.

RJ Balaji described the leak as “shocking and heartbreaking”, adding that he “cannot imagine the condition of the people who are involved in the making of the film”. He added, “This is bad on many levels.”

Suriya issued a direct appeal to the public, calling the incident “heartbreaking and unfair – the passion of the entire team has been diminished to such an extent”. He urged viewers “not to watch, share or discuss the film”, adding that he stood with the team and condemned the act as “inexcusable”.

What really happened with the Jan Nayakan leak?
