Superstar Rajinikanth interacted with the media at the Chennai International Airport on July 21. He praised his friend Kamal Haasan’s recently released film ‘Indian 2’. He also shared some updates about his upcoming films ‘Coolie’ and ‘Vettaiyaan’. According to reports, Rajinikanth and his wife Latha attended a wedding in Kerala and returned to Chennai on July 21.

Speaking to media outside the airport, Rajinikanth said, “The shooting of Coolie is going well.” He was then asked about director Shankar and Kamal Haasan’s ‘Indian 2’. The ‘Jailer’ actor said he has seen the film and said, “It’s good.”

Rajinikanth also hinted at the postponement of ‘Vettaiyan’. “The release (date) has not been decided yet. The dubbing work is going on,” he said.

Earlier, Rajinikanth had said that ‘Vettaiyan’ will have a grand release on October 10. During his pilgrimage to the Himalayas in June, Thalaivar had said, “‘Vettaiyan’ will release on Dussehra. I have completed shooting for my part. Shooting with other members of the cast is still on. The film will release on October 10.”

However, recently KE Gnanavel Raja, the producer of Suriya’s ‘Kanguva’ announced the film’s release date as October 10. He also revealed that ‘Vettaiyan’ was likely to be postponed to Diwali and hence he decided to release on October 10. “I will not clash with Rajinikanth’s film on any day,” he said.

‘Vettaiyaan’ is directed by ‘Jai Bhim’ fame TJ Gnanavel. The film stars Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh and Dushara Vijayan in lead roles. Produced by Lyca Productions, the film has music composed by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by SR Kathir and editing by Philomin Raj.
