Thalapathy, starring Rajinikanth and Mammootty, was a critically acclaimed and commercially successful film that adapted the Mahabharata’s friendship between Karna and Duryodhana into a contemporary setting. Rajinikanth played the role of Surya, representing Karna, while Mammootty played the role of Devaraja, representing Duryodhana. The film also starred Arvind Swamy, Amrish Puri and Bhanupriya, among others.
Fans of both Rajinikanth and Mani Ratnam are anxiously awaiting more details, with many hoping that this reunion will recreate the magic of their previous collaboration.
Meanwhile, Mani Ratnam is currently working on Thug Life, which has a multi-star cast, while Rajinikanth will soon be seen in Vettaiyaan directed by TJ Gnanavel alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil and others.
