Superstar Rajinikanth left his fans worried across the world after he was suddenly hospitalized in Chennai. According to reports, the actor was admitted to Apollo Hospital after severe stomach pain. It has also been reported that he will undergo an elective procedure today, October 1. Amid growing concerns, the superstar’s wife Lata shared an update on his health condition.
Speaking to CNN-News 18, he said that Rajinikanth is fine. Lata said, “Everything is fine.” Her short but reassuring statement gave a sigh of relief to Thalaivar fans. Additionally, the actor’s elective procedure will take place in a cath lab and not an operation theatre.
Meanwhile, social media has been abuzz since last night, with fans expressing their concern about Rajinikanth’s health. One social media user urged for an official update as several theories were floating online.

Earlier in 2020, Rajinikanth was reportedly admitted to a private hospital due to exhaustion and high blood pressure due to fluctuating blood pressure. He was later discharged and doctors advised a week’s rest. Thalaivar also got himself tested for COVID-19 in the same year. Fortunately, his results came back negative and he isolated himself.
The Vettaiyan actor also underwent a kidney transplant in 2016. In 2021, he was advised to undergo a carotid artery revascularization procedure at a private hospital in Chennai. According to Livemint, the hospital had said, “Rajinikanth was admitted after feeling dizzy. He was thoroughly evaluated and advised to undergo carotid artery revascularization.”
Meanwhile, on the work front, Rajinikanth is all set for the release of his upcoming film Vettaiyaan. The trailer of the film will be released on October 2 on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. Apart from Thalaivar, the star cast of Vettaiyaan includes Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil and Dasara, among others.
After this Rajinikanth will be seen in filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj’s film Coolie. The film will also star Nagarjuna Akkineni, Sathyaraj, Shruti Haasan and Soubin Shahir. The film’s director had mentioned in his first interview that Coolie will feature Rajinikanth in a unique avatar.
