Superstar Rajinikanth was discharged from Apollo Hospital in Chennai on October 3 at around 11 pm. The actor had to undergo an elective procedure on his heart to treat swelling in a blood vessel. According to the medical bulletin, a stent was placed in the aorta using the transcatheter method. After a successful procedure on October 1, he remained under observation in the hospital for two days.

According to sources, Rajinikanth has been advised by his doctors to take rest for a few weeks. It is expected that after getting permission from the doctors, he will resume work on director Lokesh Kanagaraj’s film Coolie.

Rajinikanth’s fans expressed happiness over this news and wished Thalaivar a speedy recovery.

On October 1, Apollo Hospitals shared a medical bulletin that read, “Mr. Rajinikanth was admitted to Apollo Hospitals, Grimes Road, on September 30, 2024. He had inflammation of the main blood vessel leaving the heart (aorta) , which was treated.” By a non-surgical transcatheter method, senior interventional cardiologist Dr. Sai Satish placed a stent in the aorta and completely closed the inflammation (endovascular repair). We would like to inform his well-wishers and fans that the procedure went as per Mr. Rajinikanth’s plan, Rajinikanth’s condition is stable and he will be home in two days.”

On the work front, Rajinikanth will next be seen in director TJ Gnanavel’s Vettaiyaan. The film will be released in theaters on October 10 amid huge fanfare and anticipation. The commercial entertainer also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Dushara Vijayan and Ritika Singh in lead roles.

Thalaivar has been shooting for Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie for the last few weeks. He completed a schedule in Visakhapatnam and returned to Chennai ahead of the audio launch of Vettaiyaan on 20 September.
