Veteran Bollywood actress Farida Jalal recently spoke about her experience of working with late superstar Rajesh Khanna. The two actors shared the screen in the 1969 film Aradhana.

Veteran actress Farida Jalal recently spoke about her experience working with late Bollywood actor Rajesh Khanna, who was a sensation among girls in the 1960s and 1970s. Though girls would throng the streets to catch a glimpse of their favourite star, Farida Jalal couldn’t mingle with them during the shooting of the 1969 film. “We didn’t get along at all on the set because he was caught up in that… After Aradhana he became a very, very, very big star. But we moved forward together. Once, I asked for one more rehearsal, and he snapped, ‘How many rehearsals do you need?’ I was very disappointed,” said Farida, 75. Ashok Pandit Show.

However, his co-actress Sharmila and director Shakti helped him and supported him during the shooting of the film. Worship“She (Sharmila) would say, ‘What nonsense, how can he talk to her like that?’ She was always on my side; she was very sweet. Even Shakti da (director Shakti Samanta) would say I will do as many rehearsals as I need. I was never happy with him. I felt he was very proud… he was that kind of a person,” Farida shared.

After the success of the film ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’, Farida Jalal and Rajesh Khanna came closer to each other. WorshipBut Farida wanted to put some sense into the minds of girls who would queue up to get Khanna’s autographs on various parts of their bodies.

“I have seen with my own eyes how girls used to go crazy over him. They used to ask him to sign different parts of their bodies. There used to be queues of girls, and I used to be amazed. I will kill these girls (I wanted to beat him). I thought he had no self-esteem, and he would look at me and smile. I used to be very angry. are these girls any “What kind of girls were they? Even Rinku di (Sharmila) would hold her head in shame,” Farida said.

Farida Jalal was recently seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Netflix series Hiramandi. Rajesh Khanna passed away in July 2012.
