Director SS Rajamouli presented the first glimpse of his film ‘Varanasi’ at the ‘Globetrotter’ event in Ramoji City, Hyderabad. The first teaser of the film revealed Mahesh Babu’s fierce, trident-wielding form.

The first look and title reveal event of ‘Globetrotter’ was held in Ramoji City, Hyderabad. Amidst the huge crowd, director SS Rajamouli released the first look of Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra’s film ‘Varanasi’. The teaser promises a larger-than-life spectacle, with Mahesh Babu seen wielding a trident while riding a bull.

The video begins in 512 BC. Varanasi, with scenes of saints performing Yagya, forests, Ugra Bhati cave, ancient wars, 7200 BC and the burning of Lanka by Lord Hanuman. In this, the bearded look of Mahesh Babu has also been revealed with a blood stained shirt, while he has a trident in his hand. He is then seen riding a bull, with the ancient temples of Kashi (another name for Varanasi) behind him. The bull symbolizes Nandi (the sacred bull in Hinduism, the faithful vehicle and gatekeeper of Lord Shiva). End credits show – ‘Varanasi’…#Globetrotter. SS Rajamouli revealed his character in his ex-post which read, “Mahesh Babu as Rudra in #Varanasi.”

The stage was lit up with a live set dedicated to the ghats (a series of stairs leading down to the water or ghat)., Near Ganga in Varanasi. While honoring the film’s themes, the event hinted at the film’s spiritual aspects.

Priyanka Chopra made a grand entry in a traditional white lehenga with matching blouse and dupatta along with golden jewellery. Mahesh Babu made a stylish entry as he opted for a fawn blazer with a white deep-neck shirt and matching trousers.

Apart from Rajamouli, Bhushan Kumar, Namrata Shirodkar, Prithviraj Sukumar with his wife Superiya Menon and ‘RRR’ fame, Oscar-winning composer MM Keeravani also attended the event. Rajamouli’s father, writer KV Vijayendra Prasad was also present at the teaser launch.

YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani also attended the program as host. He praised Rajamouli for making the Indian audience proud globally with his magnum opus – ‘RRR’. In a light-hearted moment, he was seen shouting “Jai Babu”, showing the audience’s love for Mahesh Babu.

Earlier, the look revelations of Priyanka as the guns blazing Mandakini and the wheelchair-bound Kumbha as Prithviraj had caught the attention of fans while giving off gray vibes. The visuals of the first video of ‘Globetrotter’ depict an epic performance with high-octane action sequences and VFX.

Unveiling Prithviraj’s character in the film, Rajamouli wrote in his ex-post, “After taking the first shot with Prithvi, I went up to him and said you are one of the best actors I have ever seen. It was very satisfying creatively to bring to life this sinister, ruthless, powerful rival Kumbha. Thank you Prithvi for literally sitting on your chair.”

Shruti Haasan’s live singing performance also took place in this program. Shruti’s first single from ‘Globetrotter’ was released recently. Keeravani composed the music for the track. Sharing a video from the recording studio with Keeravani, Shruti wrote on Instagram, “It was a pleasure to sing for MM Keeravani sir’s music. What a powerful track – Let it Bang, Globetrotter.”

Ahead of the launch of the event, Rajamouli in his ex-post shared a video addressing fans about the event which will be broadcast live on JioHotstar. He captioned, “So excited to see you all at the #Globetrotter event on November 15th. The main gate of the RFC will be closed on the day of the event. Follow the instructions on your entry pass. Cooperate with police and security to ensure a hassle-free, safe and enjoyable experience for all.”

The ‘Globetrotter’ event was telecast on JioHotstar at 7 pm.
