He then praised the film and shared his thoughts on how he felt while watching it. “Watching fire and ashes It was absolute joy. Hats off to you for creating those complex scenes, scenes and characters. I can go on and on. I was like a kid in the theater watching Wind Traders, Ash People, new characters. Varang was absolutely brilliant,” Rajamouli said.
Despite praising the film overall, Rajamouli admitted that it was the character of Jake Sully, a former human turned Na’vi, that really resonated with him. He said, “But I thought, for me, coming back from the theater, it wouldn’t get out of my mind. What really attracted me was Jake’s moral dilemma. I thought the first incarnation had it; it was too strong. I thought, can he ever overcome it? But I think in this one, it’s too strong.”
Varanasi The director also highlighted the compelling conflicts driving the story, particularly between Miles Quaritch (the former human military commander) and Jake Sully, as well as the tension between the Varang and Neytiri. Regarding Quaritch’s evolving character, the director confessed: “Two beautiful conflicts in the movie were between Miles and Jake, and of course, also between Neytiri and Varang. In the first movie, I obviously hate Miles. But fire and ashesI want to hate him, but I can’t. I want to support him, I want to love him, but I can’t. The conversation between Jake and Miles was beautifully written; There was a lot of anger in him.”
Cameron also asked Rajamouli about his upcoming film Varanasi And expressed his interest in visiting the film sets. The latter mentioned that his film industry would be happy to welcome him on the sets.
