Ajay Devgan’s ‘Red 2’ started a double digit at his early day at the box office. The film collected a successful franchise part of a successful franchise in a net of about 18 crore rupees on its first day. Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, who also used the first film in the franchise, ‘Red 2’ can now re -write history for Bollywood at the box office this year. The Hindi film industry is working with an average or a series of non-performing films at the ticket window this year. None of the films has yet emerged as a cracking box office success. It seems that ‘RAID 2’ is changing.
‘Red 2’ hit the screen on Thursday, enjoyed the benefit of Maharashtra Day/ Labor Day, which added to its collection. The film is also competing with ‘Kesari: Chapter 2’, which is performing gracefully in theaters. However, initial figures suggest that the tax thriller will cross the other release and perform even more surprisingly at the box office during its first weekend.
While on Friday, it is expected to slow down slightly, ‘Red 2’ is the first pick for the audience in theaters, and therefore, it is looking at the first week collection of the net of about Rs 65–70 crore.
Meanwhile, Nani’s ‘Hit: The Third Case’ has been released from the south, and has earned around Rs 18 crore on its first day. It was one of the most anticipated Telugu release, and despite receiving mixed reviews from critics and audiences, expected to grow from here.
It will be interesting to see how ‘Red 2’ emerges as box office winner in the coming days, given that there is no other big release in Hindi today.
