Rachel Zegler has responded to his previous comments about Disney’s Snow White Live-Action remake, which blames the deepest passion of fans for the beloved princess.
Zegler, who starred as Snow White in the upcoming film, first faced criticism when his casting was announced in 2021 due to his Colombian heritage. The 1937 animated classic “dated” was called and he was angry at criticizing the role of Rajkumar in the story. Recently, his vocal opposition to Donald Trump’s reunion made further calls to boycott Maga supporters.
In a recent interview with Vogue Mexico, Zegler said, “I explain the feelings of the people about this film as a passion for this. What is the honor to be a part of something that people feel so emotional. Zegler also reflected on the importance of representation in Hollywood, recalling young black girls in 2023 with the joy of joining Halley Bailey’s Little Marmed. He talked about his own Colombian heritage, emphasizing the importance of embracing diversity in the entertainment industry. “I understand that the community does not want to be seen as a monolith, but the reality of Latin and working in this industry is that we try to represent the entire diaspora,” she said.
Regarding the change in Snow White Remake, Zegler assured fans that Disney hit the “beautiful and delicate balance” between the 1937 honor and starting the story to the new generation. He exposed the focus of the film to the princess’s character, saying, “His superpower is his heart. There is no supernatural power that is beyond its love for snow white humanity, for all living beings, and has a fundamental belief that everything has goodness in everything.
