Raashi Khanna on film with Pawan Kalyan: I signed it without reading the script
Raashi Khanna is gearing up for one of the biggest milestones of her career with Ustad Bhagat Singh, her first collaboration with Pawan Kalyan, a film which she signed without even reading the script. Calling it a complete commercial entertainer, the actress said that she will continue to balance Hindi and South cinema as a conscious career choice.
Raashi Khanna, who was last seen in a special role in 120 Bahadur, is gearing up for one of the most important collaborations of her career, her upcoming commercial entertainer with Pawan Kalyan. The actor, who has been constantly balancing Hindi cinema with his southern projects, says this film is his first film in a decade-long journey.
“This is the first film I have signed without reading the script,” Raashi told India Today. He told that this decision has come after a long-cherished dream. The film, reportedly titled Ustad Bhagat Singh, is scheduled to release in April 2026 and marks his first collaboration with Kalyan.
Referring to Pawan Kalyan, “Right from the beginning of my career, I thought this was someone I wanted to work with.”
Describing the project as a classic crowd-pleaser, she said, “It’s a complete commercial film. There’s a song, there’s glamour, you can’t expect too much acting there because it’s just the looks and the style does it on its own.” She also shared why she continues to juggle between Hindi and South cinema with a clear intention: “I will never leave it, it’s a conscious choice.”
Although the release date is still uncertain, Rashi is optimistic: “I don’t know when it will be released, but I hope to debut sometime next year.”
