R Madhavan joins Dhurandhar Meme Fest, compares his performance with Akshay Khanna
R Madhavan highlighted the comparison of his role with Akshaye Khanna’s performance in ‘Dhurandhar’ (2025) by re-sharing fan memes on social media.
Director Aditya Dhar’s spy-thriller, stalwart (2025) is receiving positive feedback for its performance. While Akshay Khanna’s viral dance sequence on Flipkari’s “FA9LA” has been a big attraction, R Madhavan acknowledged the online conversation by sharing a meme that compared his on-screen work to Akshay’s breakout moments.
Using a memorable scene from the 2019 film ford vs ferrariMadhavan recently re-shared a meme on X (formerly Twitter) to comment on his role. The image shows Madhavan on the sidelines while Akshay gets full support from the crowd. However, the meme cleverly shifts the focus, showing ‘true cinephiles’ silently acknowledging Madhavan’s own performance and his ‘remarkable transformation on screen’. He posted the meme without adding any written caption.

The comments section immediately sparked discussion, with many X users pointing out other standout performances. “Meanwhile, Rakesh Bedi,” one person wrote, making sure the character actor’s contribution is recognised. Another fan praised Madhavan’s brilliant role, writing, “He acted so well that people didn’t even realize he was R. Madhavan.” The hope for future recognition was clear: “He will get his due in the second part. Hopefully Rakesh Bedi too,” said one user. The conversation escalated when some posts questioned whether Arjun Rampal’s performance was also being overlooked, however one person stood firm and defended it, saying, “True, Akshaye Khanna is really brilliant.”
In stalwartRanveer Singh plays the role of undercover agent Hamza Ali Mazari. The spy-thriller also features a stellar cast, featuring R Madhavan as Indian spy Ajay Sanyal and Sanjay Dutt as SP Chaudhary Aslam. Akshaye Khanna plays real-life gangster Rehman Dacoit, and Arjun Rampal has been cast as ISI Major Iqbal, whose character is inspired by terrorist Ilyas Kashmiri.
Actress Sara Arjun is also debuting with Ranveer in this film. Actors Rakesh Bedi, Manav Gohil, Gaurav Gera, Danish Pandor, Raj Zutshi, Saumya Tandon and others are in lead roles.
